Become balanced. Thrive in all areas of life.
Ayurvedic medicine or Ayurveda, is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. It has developed 5,000 years ago in India. Its methods are proved by numerous generations and it has improved the lives of millions of people. Ayurveda means the ‘science of life’ in Sanskrit. It offers a profound understanding of how the whole universe works and provides explanation how we can create an optimal health and thrive while living in a balance with nature.
Ayurveda is my lifestyle.
Ayurvedic philosophy is that health and well-being depends on a balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Its focus on an individual is fully holistic. According to Ayurveda, all living and nonliving in the universe is connected. Good health occurs when one’s mind, body, and spirit are in harmony with the universe.
A disruption of this balance can lead to poor health and illness. Some reasons that may cause a disruption include: genetic or birth defects, injuries, seasonal changes, age and emotions. Ayurveda does not treat only symptoms as often happens in a modern medicine, where doctors provide so called “quick fix” but it goes into a depth of an illness. Ayurveda finds the cause of the imbalance, which is the cause of the illness and thus it posses a perfect tool to help to restore once lost balance and harmonize the perfect health. Ayurveda promotes optimal health, by achieving balance rather than fighting disease.
Do you know your personal body constitution?
Every person is made of a combination of five basic elements found in the universe: space, air, fire, water and earth. These elements combine in the human body to form three doshas. The doshas are life forces that are responsible for health as well as disease in the body and mind. Balanced, they help provide the smooth functioning of our body, when out of balance they create pathology or disease.
Three doshas are:
Vata or Vayu (space and air)
Pitta (fire and little bit of water)
Kapha (water and earth)
All of us, you and me are created of the very unique combination of the three doshas. According to Ayurveda, maintaining good health and emotional balance is linked to the equilibrium of the doshas.
Take care of Ayurveda and Ayurveda will take care of you.
